Avantor is currently looking for a hands-on Research Technician Histology to join the team in Mölndal, Gothenburg. This Research Technician supports scientific teams and proactively ensures that sectioning, staining, registration, documentation and archiving tasks are carried out with high-quality standard. 70 to 80% of your work is lab-based, the other 20 to 30% goes to administration and documentation. This role is a full-time, permanent position, based at our customer site, AstraZeneca, in Mölndal. Working hours

The team
This Research Technician Histology is part of a team that counts 10 associates and belongs to our department Lab & Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we’re looking for
Education: Scientific related degree is required, such as BMA (Biomedical Assistant), (Molecular) Biology or similar
Experience:
Basic knowledge of sectioning or in histology is desirable, though not required as you can get trained internally
Experience in a laboratory is a plus

Preferred qualifications
Good skills of MS Office
Effective communication skills in English; Swedish is a plus

How you will thrive and create an impact
Sectioning and staining of tissues, cell
Scan slides and archive samples
Take care of the registration and shipment of samples
Assist in inventory and preparation of reagents and supplies
Support the maintenance of the lab, keeping the laboratory at a high standard to secure a safe working environment
Support and collaborate with Lab managers and Technicians in their day-to-day work
Communicate with the scientists to identify issues in the lab, and find opportunities for improvements
Support visits of external suppliers, trainings, and demos of products and equipment

In this role, you will perform daily lab support services and you are primarily responsible for handling gas, dry ice, liquid nitrogen, etc. Are you service minded, responsible and looking for a hands-on role? The team
Together with your 2 colleagues, you are part of a supportive, small team, belonging to our department Lab and Product Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we’re looking for

Full training will be given, previous experience or education in pharmaceutical/ Lab environment is not essential
Forklift license is desired

How you will thrive and create an impact
Ensure gas is filled, (dis)connected and supervised, following established instructions
Handle deliveries, complaints and returns of gas, dry ice and liquid nitrogen
Fill and transport liquid nitrogen, gas cylinders and dry ice over the site
Create and update gas maps for the site
Check the inventory of gas cylinders and update the database when required
Maintain a clean and tidy workspace for gas storage and Liquid Nitrogen filling stations
Participate in designing work routines and procedures
Place and pick up solvents from shelves and deliver to the customers delivery point at the site

Specifika arbetsuppgifter:
• Labbglas disk
• Insamling och leverans av labbglas
• Samla in och leverera labbrockar/kläder
• Hjälpa till med underhåll av olika instrument
• Autoklavera olika material och vatten
• Hjälpa till med produktion av olika typer av media och buffertar, både i och utanför GMP-miljön
• Bidra till att skapa, underhålla och uppdatera relevant dokumentation till stöd för supporten
• Arbeta med att kontinuerligt förbättra och optimera befintliga processer
• Säkra leveransen genom att utbilda kollegor inom ditt arbetsområde och vara beredd att lära sig nya områden
• Arbetar aktivt med att utvärdera och implementera nya uppgifter efter behov från kundens verksamhet




Din bakgrund
Du har erfarenhet av eller förståelse för lab. Formell utbildning inom laboratoriearbete, sterilteknik eller liknande erfarenhet är meriterande.
Du har erfarenhet av att arbeta med riktlinjer och rutiner för hälsa, miljö och säkerhet. Du är även kunnig på att arbeta med data och rapportering med hjälp av olika IT-system och applikationer, såsom Microsoft Office. Vidare ställs krav på engelska och svenska i både tal och skrift.
