Position Overview
As a Data Engineer, you will be part of our Engineering department, along with other 70+ engineers working within embedded systems, system software as well as windows applications and web services.
Purpose and Expected Result of the Role:
As a Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in enabling Kollmorgen to efficiently leverage AGV system and product usage data. You will collaborate closely with our Senior Data Scientist to shape and execute our data science and AI strategy, and with our System Architects to design a robust data platform. Your hands-on experience and deep expertise in Data Engineering principles will be pivotal in building and scaling our data platform from the ground up, directly influencing our product development and our customer success.
Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
Design Scalable Architectures: Create flexible and scalable data architectures to handle diverse data sources and evolving business needs.
Develop Robust Pipelines: Build and maintain efficient data pipelines for data acquisition, cleaning, aggregation, storage, and retention.
Lead Data Strategy: Develop and lead strategies for data collection, reliability, efficiency, and quality to support growth.
Mentor Team Members: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Effective Communication: Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
Guide Investments: Recommend and guide investments in hardware, software, and infrastructure to support scalability and growth.

To succeed in this position, we believe that you have:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Extensive experience (5+ years) in data engineering, with a strong background in building scalable data platforms.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Excellent python programming skills
Broad experience with modern data engineering and observability tools, including: Relational () and Non-relational (No) databases, Cloud storage/processing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Delta Lake), Orchestration and transformation using for example Airflow or dbt, Ingestion and streaming (Kafka, MQTT etc), Observability and monitoring with for example OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, API Development and Data Contracts
Track Record: Proven success in driving data initiatives and creating value from data.
Communication: Excellent communication skills in English.
Leadership: Ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Interest in Data: Genuine interest in data and its value in analysis and modeling.

Responsibilities
You will be expected to act upon day-to-day issues that occur whilst processing samples, ensure business continuity and run Sample Management development projects to ensure continuous improvement, which is also a core activity performed as individual and group projects within the local team and the global department. Qualifications
Sample Management is a highly collaborative group, working to tight delivery schedules - so the ability to be comfortable working at a fast, goal-oriented pace, with a team focused attitude is essential to be successful.


We also believe you have:


• M.Sc. degree in a relevant scientific or technical/engineering field (for e.g. Software engineering/IT/Computer or Data Science/Statistics/Information management).


• At least 3-5 years’ experience of data management.


• Data pipelining – experience of data pipelining platforms, such as Pipeline Pilot or Knime.


• Understanding of basic principles of relational databases (entity relationship diagrams, joins and referential integrity constraints, query development).


• Web/front end – experience of the basics of HTML/CSS/JavaScript.


• Experience with writing scripts/code in any data analysis environment (R, Python, Java etc).


• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with customers and internal colleagues.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record in the performance of a range of practical skills, including non-routine complex tasks, to a high level.


• Be highly productive: consistently generate high quality results within established time lines and efficiently prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.

About the Role
GBS is the service partner to the entire Essity organization, delivering services within Finance, Human Resources, Workspace and Master Data. Our employees, spread across more than 35 countries, deliver both professional and transactional services every day to all our internal customers within Essity. Who you are
As a Business Data Analyst, you will work on improvement areas and global projects with mainly operational data. Since this is a new role, you will be an important part of developing our future ways of working and support our stakeholders in becoming more data driven.
You will report to the Service Development Manager within GBS Financial Services and this position is preferably located in Gothenburg but also other European locations could be considered. Since your stakeholders will be around the world, some travel will be required, but most of the times we use skype, video etc. for meetings. As the team members are located both in Sweden and England, working in virtual teams is a huge part of the daily work.

What You Will Do
You will work closely with key stakeholders in the business to identify analytics use cases. This involves working closely with data domain experts and business experts to understand their data and insight needs.
You will create insights through applying data mining tools like classifiers, regression analysis, decision trees, machine learning and neuronal networks.
For this role it is important to maintain a good link between data domain experts, business people and IT specialists like Data Scientists and Data Engineers to delivery analytics projects. You will work with Power BI when delivering the insights to the organization. You will also work closely with our GBS Service Excellence team and our GBS process leaders.
As this role is new to the Financial Services stream you will have great opportunities to develop the data analytics field and also the role over time. You will have the possibility to influence and build up this work area.
What you need
0-5 years experience in data analytics.
University degree or equivalent in Information Technology
Experience in data mining and machine learning.
Good knowledge of classic data bases, Databricks, Python, TensorFlow or similar
Holistic thinking and an interest in understanding the full value chain
Communication skills in big projects and multi-cultural environment
Customer driven
Proven ability to have responsibility for daily customer interaction and delivery
Experience in working in virtual teams is an advantage
Basic knowledge in Finance processes with > 1-2 years working experience from Finance departments
Fluent in English
Willingness to travel
